Moschato Estate is about 1 acre in size and is part of the greater family estate which spans over 3 acres of land and has been in the family for many generations.
It produces almonds, walnuts and citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons, grapefruit and tangerines. You will also find fig, avocado, apricot and apple trees amongst many other trees.
Moshcato was initially a vineyard but was turned into an olive grove over 50 years ago. The olive grove comprises over 85 olive trees of which 5 are centuries old.

The Ancient Olive Trees

Their ages vary from 600 to 1500 years old, but curiously and even though they were in our land, not all of them always belonged to us.

They were bought by the family at some point in the last fifty years.

The Olive Grove

The olive grove has been planted with olive trees of the Koroni variety, which give a low yield but produce superior quality oil.

Other trees include orange, lemon, tangerines and of course figs that you are welcome to pick and eat when they are in season.

Our own olive oil

Every year we pick the olives about a month before they are fully ripe. They then undergo cold extraction through centrifusion and the olive oil produced is Extra Virgin and of very high quality.

You should taste the vague bitterness and a pungency that doesn’t overwhelm both qualities any good olive oil should have. A spinoff of oil production is our own burning wood which you are welcome to use in the barbeques.

In our welcome basket you will find a sample of our olive oil. We also bottle our oil in 250ml and 500ml glass bottles suitable for travel and perfect souvenirs. Please just ask us about this.
